One our volunteer personally visited a charity home “Snehalaya Charitable trust, locally known as 'Akashaparavakal' at Kanhangad, Kasargod District. Snehalaya is a social service program for the care and rehabilitation of mentally retarded, old age, and people who are ill and poor. Per suggestion from Br. Samson, DMA donated clothes for 100 half pants (Bermuda pants), some commonly used medicines, Nebulizer- a device used to administer medication to people in form of a mist inhaled into the lungs for Asthma patients and 10 hospital beds. Now patents are wearing good clothes and sleeping on good bed. Unfortunately they do not realize that they are wearing good cloth and sleeping on good bed!
During 2008 Onam time, one of our volunteers organized the Onam kit at a village near Cochin. Onam kit including Onapudava was distributed for more than 35 poor families. The DMA volunteer selected the real needy families who needed help. All of them were invited to a common place and the kit was distributed.
